A HUGE topic right now: Is Naked Juice healthy?
Are you a NAKED juice fan? I know I was, and I was happy to hand over my $4.00 for my individual sized juice thinking I was buying something so healthy, natural, & pure!
Well, now I feel like a fool–have you heard about all the controversy? Naked Juice DOES NOT use certified organic or verified non-GMO soy.
SO, we have all been paying an arm and leg for good juice that has GMO soy in it – unbelievable!
“While government agencies like the FDA keep stalling on demanding rigorous scientific testing of numerous questionable ingredients, GMO foods, and the correct labeling of such foods, PepsiCo has recently agreed to settle out of court for $9 million over a class action lawsuit that claimed ‘natural’ and ‘non-GMO’ on their bottles was misleading since they are made with GMO ingredients, as well as synthetic and ‘unnatural’ items.” - Nationofchange.org
This is just another case of “green washing” at its finest. PepsiCo also paid $2.5 million to the campaign to defeat Proposition 37, which is the California ‘Right to Know’ ballot initiative to label GMOs.
PepsiCo actually owns Naked Juice!
Here are some other brands that they own that they also claim are “natural” on the label: Tostitos, Tropicana, Tazo, Loóza, Izze, Sabra, Smartfood, Stacy’s, Mother’s and Near East
Mike Torres is in charge of corporate branding and communication for the company–feel free to drop him a line and let him know how you feel about being lied to.
